a note about the vFRG: your soldier must submit the names (and some other information)… so if you’re not getting access to vFRG — nag your soldier!!

thanks for the kind words… in my discussions with ArmyOneSOurce re: the vFRG (which unfortunately in some cases is replacing an actual FRG), a soldier can authorize access by UP TO 10 individuals… and it is up to the individual units to put information on the unit’s site — so there will be some unevenness in terms of content: some units will just do it better and be more committed to the effort. I assure you, however, that if your experience with the vFRG for your unit is poor, a few well-placed complaints with your son/daughter’s commanders will be heard…. do keep in mind that these units have many more critical things to attend to when deployed, so be patient. On the other hand, don’t let anyone tell you that you are JUST “some soldier’s mom”. heh.
